『ゴジラ』〜不条理さに対峙する科学技術

高校時代の文化祭で作ったダンボールのゴジラ。
ゴジラのテーマ曲とともに、富士山から登場。
目は赤く光り、手と尻尾は自由自在に作動。
口からはドライアイスを噴射。

ダンボールのゴジラを設計した男子（理系）2人は、みずからダンボールのゴジラの中に入り、ゴジラを操作しました。

高校時代は、男子たちがどうしてそんなにゴジラに夢中になるのかわかりませんでした。
しかし、『G－1.0』（ゴジラ・マイナスワン）を鑑賞して、ようやくその謎がとけました。

劇中「東洋バルーン」の技術者たちが
”自分たちの製造したものが機能するかどうか見極める責任がある”
と駆逐艦への乗船を訴えるシーンがあります。
ゴジラには、不条理さに対峙する科学技術が描かれていたのです。

人間の持つ英知。
それは、ものづくり。
ものづくりは、職人さんや技術者さんの「こだわりと執着心」がなければ、何も生まれない。
今、その想いが世界を構築しているなだな…と感じています。

The two boys (science majors) who designed the cardboard Godzilla entered the cardboard Godzilla themselves and operated it.

At the time, I didn’t understand how high school boys would become obsessed with Godzilla.
However, after watching “G-1.0” (Godzilla Minus One), that mystery was solved.

There is a scene where you are seen boarding a destroyer.
Godzilla depicts science and technology that opposes absurdity.
wisdom possessed by humans.
That is manufacturing.

In manufacturing, nothing is produced without the “commitment and commitment” of craftsmen and engineers.
I feel that those thoughts are what builds the world…
